Privacy Policy
Guardei app, by Fácil Labs. Effective October 13, 2026.
Português · English
Overview
- Guardei saves what you ask it to save, so you can read it later. That is all.
- It displays no ads inside the app. The public website uses Google Ads conversion measurement, described below; private articles are not sent to measure the campaign.
- You can delete anything you want, whenever you want, including your entire account, from within the app.
Who is responsible
Guardei is developed and maintained by Rafael Gonçalves de Souza, an individual operating under the Fácil Labs brand. Contact address: Av. Independência, 400, Laranjeiras, Betim–MG, postal code 32676-385, Brazil. Support and privacy requests: contato.facillabs@hotmail.com.
What Guardei stores
- Your account: your email address and password. Authentication stores a cryptographic representation of the password (a hash), rather than the password in readable form. If you use “Forgot password,” Guardei sends a link to your email address so you can choose a new password.
- Where you came from: when you create an account, we store only a short name identifying your source — the name of the link you opened (for example, “tabnews”) or the website that brought you here (for example, “tabnews.com.br”). It is used only to learn which outreach works. We do not store the full address or anything you were doing on that website.
- What you save: each page’s address, title, cover image, the description the website wrote for the page, the cleaned article text, and the date it was saved.
- What arrives through Share: the link and text sent by the other app (for example, a post’s text). Text without a link becomes a saved note.
- Your organization: tags, favorites, what has been archived, and your reading progress.
- Your notebook: notes you write, passages you highlight, and comments on highlights.
- PDF files you upload (a Premium feature).
- Screenshots and photos containing text that you send through Share: the image and its text. The text is read on your own device by Android’s text reader (Google ML Kit), without sending the image to a text-reading service; afterward, on Premium and Premium+, the image and text are stored in your account. On the Free plan, the screenshot stays only on your phone (image, text, and thumbnail): your account stores only a record indicating that it exists and its date, without the image or text, to count toward the article limit. ML Kit may send Google technical data about its operation (for example, performance and errors), without the image or text.
- What you import from Pocket or Omnivore: the export file is read on your device and is not uploaded. Only links, titles, dates, tags, and archived status are stored.
- Websites you follow (a Premium feature), the topics you choose for each one (“only articles about…”), and articles received from them.
- Articles you have listened to: when you tap listen, Guardei records which article was listened to that month. This is used only to count the Free plan’s limit (15 articles per month).
- Reports of AI problems: if you tap “Report a problem” on an AI summary or podcast, Guardei stores your selected reason, your comment (if you write one), the article involved, and a copy of the AI-generated content. This is used only to investigate and fix the problem. The report stays in your account and is deleted with it.
- Your preferences: theme, automatic archiving, and other choices on the Account screen.
- Your plan: whether your account is Free or Premium and when it expires.
Some choices stay only on your device and are not sent to the server: font size and type, reading speed and voice, where spoken reading stopped in each article, list order, and your saved sign-in so you do not have to sign in every time.
To read offline, the app also keeps a copy of your list and article text on your device and, if enabled under Account, images from articles you opened. Offline changes stay on the device until they can be sent. All of this is deleted from the device when you tap “Sign out” (except natural voice audio you chose to save: see “Natural voices” below). Reminders are shown by your phone itself, without an external notification service: the titles of articles in reminders are stored on the device, while only your selected days and times are stored in your account.
Guardei does not request access to precise location, contacts, microphone or camera. PDFs, screenshots, photos and text you choose to share are processed as described here. IP and technical connection data do not mean access to precise location.
How this data is used
- To show your list on every device where you sign in.
- To retrieve text from pages you save: our server visits the saved address and extracts the text, title, and cover image.
- To check which features your plan provides.
- To keep the service working and secure.
No one at Fácil Labs reads your saved content to advertise, build profiles, or sell information.
Companies that help Guardei work
Infrastructure providers process data to deliver contracted services. Payment providers and some external services may also act as independent controllers for security, fraud prevention and legal obligations under their own policies. Not every provider processes data exclusively on our instructions.
- Supabase: database and sign-in. Data is stored on servers in São Paulo.
- Cloudflare: stores PDF files, screenshot images, and article text (R2 service) and delivers the Guardei website (Pages service).
- Microsoft (Azure): generates Premium+ natural voice audio and writes AI summaries and podcasts (see below). It receives only the text needed for those tasks.
- Google: distributes the app through Google Play and provides the screenshot text reader (ML Kit, which works on the device). Subscriptions and voice packages bought in the app are paid through Google Play. During a purchase, Guardei sends Google only a code identifying your Guardei account (a hash, without your email address), and stores the receipt returned by Google, the product, its status (active, canceled, expired), and dates to activate your plan and check renewals and refunds. Guardei does not receive or store card details.
- Mercado Pago: processes payments made on the Guardei website (computer and iPhone). During a purchase, Guardei sends Mercado Pago the product, amount, your account’s email address, and an internal code linking the payment to your Guardei account. You enter card or Pix details directly into Mercado Pago: Guardei does not receive them. Guardei stores the payment or subscription number, product, status (paid, active, canceled, refunded), and dates to activate your plan, check renewals, and handle refund requests.
- Dodo Payments: After this feature is activated, website payments in the United States will be processed by Dodo Payments. Dodo Payments receives your email address and the billing information needed for payment. Guardei sends the product, US dollar amount, and an internal account identifier; validates the billing country; and receives transaction and subscription IDs, status, dates, and refund information to activate plans and packages. Guardei does not receive card details. Cancellation and payment updates are available in the Dodo Payments portal opened from Plans. This feature remains unavailable until the integration is activated.
Listening to an article: spoken reading uses your own device’s voice. In the Android app, Guardei uses only voices that work offline: article text does not leave your phone. On the website (computer and iPhone), the voice is provided by the browser, and Guardei prefers offline voices; if your browser only has an online voice, it sends the spoken passage to its voice provider (for example, Google in Chrome). On Premium, the Android app keeps reading with the screen off: the article title appears in your phone’s notification and lock screen, along with pause and skip buttons. This information stays on the device.
Natural voices (Premium+): if you choose a natural voice (Thalita or Macerio in Portuguese; Ava or Adam in English), reading is no longer performed on the device. Each passage to be spoken (a paragraph or part of one) is sent to the Guardei server and then to Microsoft (Azure service), which returns audio. Only the passage text is sent: not your email address, name, or the article’s address. The voice is generated by artificial intelligence. Audio is stored on Cloudflare to avoid generating it again. When a passage comes from a public web page, the same audio may be delivered to another person who saved that page, without anyone knowing who listened to what. Audio from your private files and texts (PDF, screenshot, note, a title you changed, or text received through Share) is stored in a folder belonging only to your account and is never delivered to another person. Guardei records how many seconds you listened to during the month to count your plan’s minutes. Sixty days after Premium+ ends, your account’s private audio is deleted (except while you still have a valid minutes package). Audio that has not been requested for 12 months is also deleted from the cloud. None of this happens with your device’s voice.
New-article notifications (Following): these work only if you enable them (under “Websites you follow”). In the Android app, your phone stores a random code and periodically asks the Guardei server whether new articles have arrived; the server stores only a hash of that code, which does not identify the phone. In the browser (including iPhone with Guardei added to the Home Screen), the browser gives Guardei an address for its notification service (Google, Mozilla, Apple, or Microsoft); the notification is encrypted and contains the new article titles, and only your browser can open it. Turning off notifications or signing out deletes this record.
Audio saved on your device (Premium+): “Save audio on this device” (Account → Reading voice) is enabled by default (turn it off if you prefer): natural voice audio you listen to is saved inside Guardei on your device, so you can replay it without using minutes and offline. The server records which passages your account saved (only a code for each passage, the voice, and its article), so they are not deducted again when you change devices. This audio is not deleted when you tap “Sign out”: it stays on the device, separated by account, and another account signing in on the same device cannot use it. You can delete it at any time under Account → Saved audio; it also disappears if you delete the article or account, uninstall the app, or clear its data. In the Android app, while a natural voice plays with the screen off, the article title appears in the notification and lock screen with pause and skip buttons.
Article podcasts (Premium+): if you request a podcast for an article, its title and text are sent to the Guardei server and then to a Microsoft text AI model (Azure service), which writes a conversation about it. Your email address, name, and the article’s address are not sent. The conversation is stored in your account and spoken by natural voices as described above. It is written by AI and may contain errors. This happens only when you tap “Create and listen.” For a PDF podcast, the PDF text (read on your device) is sent in the same way, only to write the conversation: it is not stored on the server.
AI summaries (Premium+): if you request an AI summary for an article, its title and text are sent to the Guardei server and then to a Microsoft text AI model (Azure service), which writes the summary. Your email address, name, and the article’s address are not sent. The summary is stored in your account (and removed with the article). It is written by AI and may contain errors. This happens only when you tap “Create summary.” For a PDF summary, the PDF text (read on your device) is sent in the same way, only to write the summary: it is not stored on the server. Existing summaries also appear in the article’s Notebook and are included in Account → Export my articles. The “Overview” is different: it is created on your device using the description the website wrote for the page, parts of the text, and sentences from the article itself, without AI and without sending anything.
Two situations in which another website learns about you:
- YouTube videos: these play through YouTube’s official player in privacy-enhanced mode. When you play a video, YouTube receives information about your device, as it would on any page with a YouTube video.
- Images: article covers and images are loaded from the original website. That website sees your device’s internet address (IP), as it would if you opened the page.
Features that are not enabled yet
Two Premium features are described here so you know about them in advance, but they do not work yet. While they appear in the app with a “Coming soon” label, no data is sent or received through them.
- AI tag suggestions: when enabled, Guardei will send an AI provider the title, beginning of the article text, and your tag names to suggest an article tag. Your email address, the article’s address, and anything identifying you are not sent. This is only for Premium accounts.
- Email newsletters: when enabled, you will be able to create a Guardei email address to subscribe to newsletters. Emails received at that address (subject, sender, and text) will be saved in your account like articles. Images used only to tell the sender that an email was opened are discarded.
This page will be updated when those features are enabled.
How to delete your account
- Open Guardei and sign in to your account.
- Tap Account in the bottom navigation.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account and data.
- Confirm.
What is deleted immediately: your account (email address and password), all saved articles, notes and texts, tags, annotations, highlights, PDF files, screenshots, followed websites, preferences, and plan record. They cannot be recovered.
App deletion does not mean every external record disappears immediately. Backups and technical records follow the contracted services’ retention cycles; the billing provider may retain transaction records for legal obligations, fraud prevention and disputes. Such records must not be reused to rebuild your account or for advertising. Contact us for the retention information applicable to your request.
If you cannot sign in to the app, request deletion by writing from your account’s email address to contato.facillabs@hotmail.com. We respond within 15 days.
If you have a Google Play subscription, cancel it in Google Play; if you subscribed to a monthly plan on the website, cancel renewal on the website’s Plans screen before deleting your account. Deleting your Guardei account does not automatically cancel billing.
How to delete only some of your data
You do not need to delete your account to remove something. Inside the app:
- An article, note, screenshot, or PDF: open it and tap “Delete” at the bottom. To delete several at once, press and hold one, select the others, and tap “Delete.”
- A tag: Account → Tags → tap the tag → Edit → “Delete this tag.” Articles remain saved, without that tag.
- A highlight or comment: tap the highlighted passage, then “Remove this highlight.”
- An article’s note: open its notebook, erase the text, and tap “Save note.”
- A followed website: Following → tap “websites” → tap the website → “Unfollow.”
Anything you delete disappears from your list immediately on all devices and is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. A deleted PDF file or screenshot image is removed immediately.
Files when a plan ends. If your PDFs and screenshot images exceed your current plan’s storage (Premium 1 GB, Premium+ 5 GB, Free none), they are kept for another 60 days. After that, files exceeding the allowance are removed from our servers, oldest first, with favorites last. Under Account → Your storage, you can view and delete your files at any time.
If you prefer, request deletion of specific data by writing from your account’s email address to contato.facillabs@hotmail.com.
How long data is kept
Account content is kept while your account exists, subject to the deletion rules and limits here. Technical, support and billing records may have different retention periods where necessary for their purpose or required by law. Articles received from followed websites that remain unopened for 30 days are automatically deleted. Everything else remains until you delete it, delete your account, or the situation below applies.
Free plan limit: the Free plan stores up to 1,000 articles (Premium has no limit). If your Premium subscription ends and you have more than 1,000 articles, nothing is deleted during the next 60 days: the app warns you, shows how many days remain, and offers a copy of your data (Account → Export my articles). After 60 days without Premium, 1,000 articles remain — favorites and articles with notes or highlights first, then the most recent — and the others are permanently deleted, along with their text, files, notes, and highlights. Resubscribing within the period prevents deletion.
Your rights
Under Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD), you may request information about the data we hold about you, correct it, receive a copy, delete it, and ask how it is used. You can make a copy yourself at any time under Account → Export my articles: the file is assembled on your device with links, tags, notes, highlights, AI summaries, and, if you choose, article text. For anything else, write to contato.facillabs@hotmail.com. You may also submit a complaint to Brazil’s National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).
Children
The age policy prepared for launch is 16+ in Brazil, the US and Japan and 18+ in India. We do not intend to collect data from people below the limit. Reports and corrections use the contact above; protections and rollout status are described below.
Changes to this policy
When something important changes, this page and the date at the top will be updated.
Legal bases, security and technical records
For Brazilian processing, account, synchronization and requested features serve performance of the contract; legal duties and legal claims may justify limited record retention. Security and fraud prevention require necessity and proportionality. Where a purpose requires consent, accepting these terms does not replace that specific choice, and consent may be withdrawn.
Hosting, authentication and delivery services may log IP address, timestamp, browser, request information and failures for operation and security. Resend delivers recovery and confirmation emails and receives the recipient and necessary message content. Text sent to AI can itself contain personal information, even when we do not separately send your account email. Avoid unnecessarily sending sensitive or third-party information without appropriate authority. No system is risk-free; incidents will be handled and notified where law requires.
International processing
Guardei’s primary database is in São Paulo, Brazil. Website delivery, storage, email, AI and payment providers may process data outside Brazil, including in the United States. Database location alone does not keep all processing within Brazil. A processing legal basis does not replace the separate transfer mechanism required by Brazil’s LGPD.
You may request the transferred categories, purposes, destinations and applicable safeguards or mechanism through our contact email. This notice does not claim a certified transfer framework or approved contractual clauses without evidence. Dodo Payments’s handling of purchase data is also described in its Privacy Notice.
Brazilian privacy rights
Alongside in-app export and deletion, applicable rights include confirmation and access, correction, information about disclosure, anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary or unlawfully processed data, portability when regulated, withdrawal of consent and review of automated decisions. Simplified confirmation/access is provided immediately; a complete statement is provided within 15 days under the LGPD. Other requests follow their applicable legal deadline, with an explanation where mandatory retention prevents full deletion.
Contact contato.facillabs@hotmail.com. We may proportionately verify ownership; do not send a password or full identity document without a justified request through an appropriate channel. You may also petition ANPD or contact a consumer-protection authority.
United States privacy rights
US consumers can contact us to request access, correction or deletion. Additional statutory rights, deadlines, appeals and authorized-agent requests depend on the state law applicable to you and our operation. We do not claim CCPA/CPRA automatically applies to every small app; where it applies, its mandatory rights and controls prevail. We verify requests proportionately and do not discriminate for exercising protected rights.
We do not sell private articles or use them to target ads. Disclosure of identifiers to Google for measurement requires a separate assessment under legal definitions of sale and cross-context advertising sharing; it is not represented as automatically exempt. This notice’s date and contact for reviewing or changing information also apply to California residents. The service is not directed to children under 13. If we learn of improper collection of a child’s information, we will act to stop processing and remove it, subject to legal duties.

Age and protections for teenagers
For accounts aged 16 or 17, the legal guardian receives an email invitation, states their name, confirms adult capacity and legal responsibility, and chooses purchases and external AI separately. Neither option is selected by default. We record the email address, name, choices, policy version and request, acceptance, expiration and revocation dates. Email approval does not verify identity or parentage. The invitation expires after 48 hours; accepted permissions last up to 365 days and can be revoked through the same link.
Permission does not make a payment or grant a paid plan. The user must complete checkout with the displayed price, billing frequency and renewal terms. Revocation blocks new purchases and AI requests; existing subscriptions require separate cancellation. External AI may process the content submitted to produce summaries or audio; permission for purchases does not authorize AI.
The launch policy being prepared is age 16 or older in Brazil, the United States and Japan; age 18 or older in India. We request birth month and year and country of residence, without preselected answers. This declaration is not proof of identity or location; language does not determine country. Age is calculated conservatively at the end of the birth month.
The protected record is used only for access and permissions. Changes to editable account fields do not change this record. Age or country corrections require support review. Missing or unsupported country and insufficient age prevent completion of the flow.
For ages 16 and 17, Google Ads campaign measurement is disabled and purchases and new requests to external AI/voice services remain blocked until the guardian approves the respective permissions, when the flow is activated. Declaring guardian authorization in account fields cannot unlock these features. Cancellation, refund assistance, export and deletion remain available; existing paid benefits are not cancelled by this control.
Contact contato.facillabs@hotmail.com for corrections, under-age account reports or appeals. Do not send identity documents or passwords by ordinary email. Protection records are deleted with the account, except where a specific legal obligation requires retention.
This policy and these controls are prepared in development and are not active in the published version. Parental supervision, store age signals, risk assessment and jurisdiction review remain pending. These limits are not a certification of compliance.
